Uber has its eye on Victoria after the controversial ride-sharing service was legalised in NSW.

The government announced on Thursday it would repeal 50 taxi and hire car regulations, as well as announcing a $250 million ‘industry adjustment’ package.

Brad Kitschke, Director of Public Policy at Uber, told 3AW Drive it was a ‘win’ for the consumer.

He hoped it would pave the way for other states to implement similar laws.

‘We would hope Victoria would follow suit pretty soon,’ Mr Kitschke said on 3AW Drive.
