Ugly parking inspector incident highlights a ‘bigger issue’ with council staff

An ugly incident involving a parking inspector being threatened after handing out a ticket in the Docklands, has exposed a “bigger issue” with the culture of council staff according to Council Watch president Dean Hurlston.

Mr Hurlston believes many council staff see themselves as “an enforcer rather than a service provider” which is leading to many people having a lot of contempt for council staff with the way they are treated.
