Umpire greets Selwood as ‘away’ captain

As if Geelong fans weren’t annoyed enough about having to come up the highway to play Richmond at the MCG, despite it being the Cats’ home game.

It turned out that the umpire officiating the coin toss was also confused that Geelong was the home team.

Given the ‘away’ side always gets to choose heads or tails, the umpire allowed Selwood to make the choice.

Unfortunately for the Cats the early coin toss win didn’t help when the siren sounded.
