Peter Dutton has defended calling the ABC hate media by claiming Australians expect “unbiased reporting”.

The opposition leader told Jacqui Felgate most Victorians have moved away from the national broadcaster.

“Given the very high ratings of your show, they’re probably tuning into your show as opposed to the ABC, and that’s good,” he said.

He also said the ABC had “dramatically changed” over the years.

“As evidenced by the fact they’ve got many activists as opposed to journalists there, and I think it’s unfortunate,” he added.
