Unlikely trio combine to launch a sweet treat to help the Salvos
A councillor, a baker, and radio show maker.
Nope, it’s not a new nursery rhyme, it’s the makings of a special sweet treat to help the Salvos.
It all started with Melbourne deputy mayor Arron Wood, who recently suggested to Neil Mitchell his council should place a giant gingerbread man in the shape of Major Brendan Nottle in the Town Hall’s Gingerbread Village this Christmas.
The good folk at Ferguson Plarre heard the conversation and called into 3AW with another idea.
A few weeks later, Ferguson Plarre has made thousands of ‘Nottlebreads’ and are selling them around Melbourne with $1 from each sale going to The Salvation Army.
