US politics shock: Trump dumps Scaramucci
President Donald Trump has removed Anthony Scaramucci from his job as communications director, after just a week and a half.
The move was announced hours after the President’s new chief-of-staff John Kelly was sworn in.
Scaramucci shocked many with an outburst last week against then-chief of staff Reince Priebus, calling him a ‘f—ing paranoid schizophrenic’.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders has admitted the President thought those comments were “inappropriate”, but it’s not the sole reason he is now gone.
The abrupt decision shows that the new chief-of-staff, Kelly, is moving quickly to assert control over the West Wing.
