Usman Khawaja’s brother, Arsalan, charged for breaching bail
The older brother of Test cricketer Usman Khawaja has been charged with breaching bail and attempting to influence a witness.
Arsalan Khawaja was first charged earlier this month, accused of framing a colleague over a fake terror plot.
He was granted strict conditional bail in a court appearance on December 4.
But yesterday, officers arrested the 39-year-old at his Sydney home in Westmead and later charged him with breaching bail and influencing a witness in judicial proceedings.
Arsalan Khawaja is expected to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later in the day.
His brother, Usman, will be hope to spend a long time in the middle of the MCG today.
With Australia’s openers yet to become settled at the crease, Usman looks likely to bat for Australia early today as the hosts answer India’s imposing first innings score of 443 at the MCG.
