V/Line restricts grain freight trains from running on 33-degree days
V/Line has restricted grain freight trains from running on 33-degree days.
This means farmers will either have their supply restricted, or they’ll have to get their own trucks to ship their produce around.

CEO of Public Transport Victoria Jeroen Weimar told 3AW Drive hot weather had caused two train derailments last year.
Mr Weimar said there is a $400m upgrade being done to avoid this in the future.
‘We’re asking farmers to work with us so we can run the freight in the cooler parts of the day,’ he said.
