‘Value for money? I don’t think so’: Tom Elliott on the potential cost to cancel the Commonwealth Games
Tom Elliott has hit out at the state government as questions are raised about the cost to can the Commonwealth Games.
“The original budget overseen by Jacinta Allen was to spend $2.6 billion of taxpayers money to host the Commonwealth Games in 2026, it now seems clear – at a conservative estimate, we will spend over $3 billion not to host the Commonwealth Games. Value for money? I don’t think so,” he said.
