Why VCAL is being scrapped
Victoria’s vocational high school certificate will be merged with the VCE in an effort to remove the “stigma” for non-academic children.
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning will be completely scrapped by 2025.
Rebecca Casson, CEO of Master Builders Victoria, welcomed the news.
“There is a perception problem,” she told Neil Mitchell.
Some 25,000 students undertook the VCAL program last year.
