Veteran police officer Ron Fenton denied compensation payout
The same panel that awarded the daughter of Carl Williams $200,000 compensation has refused to hand over a cent in workers compensation to a veteran police officer.
The Age has revealed former officer Ron Fenton – who was shot in the head, bitten by a man claiming to have HIV and asked to recover a baby’s corpse during his 40 year career – met the required 30 per cent impairment threshold for compensation.
But the panel denied him a payout, because it determined he was a stoic and determined person.
Dhakota Williams, daughter of slain underworld figure Carl, was handed a taxpayer-funded payout following her father’s 2010 prison-bashing death.
