Several veterans have rung into 3AW expressing concerns about a recently announced dining experience at the Shrine of Remembrance.

The ‘Dine at the Shrine’ event will take place as part of next year’s Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, setting diners back $185 per head.

Shrine of Remembrance CEO Dean Lee defended the move, saying veterans on their board support the initiative.

“The views of all veterans are to be respected,” he told Tom Elliott.

“It’s important to share that the board of trustees at the Shrine is primarily comprised of veterans … all of them are across our programming.”
