A glitch in processing payments has left some Victorians driving unregistered despite making payments.

The Rumour File was tipped off to the bungle, which was later confirmed by Neil Mitchell.

Chris Miller from the Department of Transport says about 3500 people were impacted.

“The issue has been resolved, all the payments have been reconciled and we’re working through basically updating all customer records as we speak,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“3500 is a big number and it is difficult for those people who are impacted.”

Mr Miller says anyone who has paid their registration only to be pulled over and fined for not being registered should call 13 11 71.
