VicRoads is quietly trialling a new online portal, and 3AW Mornings discovered it.

The ‘My VicRoads’ system would enable drivers to receive license renewal and registration reminders through email, and hopefully through SMS once the site is launched.

Neil Mitchell spoke to numerous 3AW listeners who failed to receive their registration renewals in the mail, and were stung with hefty fines when they were pulled over by the police.

Drivers can sign up for a new account now during the testing phase, David Shelton from VicRoads said on 3AW Mornings.

‘By creating an account you will automatically get an email notification you’re getting your renewal when you get your mailed version,’ he said.

‘The starting point for VicRoads is that we know across the board our services need to be easier and more convenient for the public.’
