Victoria Police Association Secretary slams police force for alleged hundreds of millions of unpaid overtime

Ross and Russ

Victoria Police Association Secretary Wayne Gatt says the union is in a standstill with the force over negotiations as union members launch a separate bombshell court action over hundreds of millions of unpaid overtime.

He’s revealed to 3AW Breakfast, the alleged underpayment goes back two enterprise agreements and relates to pre-shift and post-shift work.

“There are mandatory tasks and things they’re directed to do, required and permitted to do by the employer, otherwise we wouldn’t have a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week policing service,” he said.
