Victoria Police Chief Commissioner, Shane Patton, have confirmed police have not yet spoken to the driver of the SUV at the centre of the tragic Daylesford crash.

He says detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit expect to interview the 66-year-old man later today and described the scenes as horrific.

“The scene … that did confront emergency services workers … as well as members of the public who selflessly assisted the injured and dying people, those type of scenes, you’ll never get out of your mind,” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
