Victoria Police is considering changes that would support highway patrol members to work solo but be deployed in close proximity to another member.

Victoria Police Assistant Commissioner Mick Hermans told 3AW Mornings host Heidi Murphy this decision had not been made due to a lack of staff.

“Categorically not. In fact, we will be deploying exactly the same number of staff,” he said.
