Victoria Police make potential ‘significant’ discovery in search for Samantha Murphy
Victoria Police could have made a significant discovery in the disappearance and alleged murder of missing Ballarat mother, Samantha Murphy.
Nine News reporter, Laura Turner says a sniffer dog made a discovery of a phone which could have belonged to the missing mother.
“It was so significant, we saw police officers congratulating the dogs, hugging each other, quite jubilant, this discovery,” she told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Jacqui Felgate.

The findings come after 3AW Mornings received a tip-off from an off-air Word On The Street caller alerting them to a large police presence south of Ballarat, around 10am.
“Victoria Police ask that members of the public do not attend the search at this time,” Tom Elliott said.

The caller revealed police were excavating land as well.
