Victoria Police takes action over vaccine mandate

More than 40 Victoria Police staff have been stood down because they aren’t vaccinated against COVID-19.

At this stage, 34 police officers have been suspended.

Nine protective service officers have also failed to comply with the vaccine directive.

They’ve been referred to Professional Standards Command for failing to abide by an instruction of the Chief Commissioner and face disciplinary action, including having their work terminated.

The officers have currently been stood down and directed to take leave.
