Victoria Police to receive new powers to search for knives

Victoria Police will soon have powers to search people for knives in locations where police believe there’s a high risk of an attack.

Secretary of the Police Association of Victoria, Wayne Gatt, says Police won’t be able to just start searching.

“It does reduce some of the red tape that currently exists as I understand it,” he told Tom Elliott.
