Victoria Police travels to Rome to question Cardinal George Pell over sexual assault allegations
Cardinal George Pell has been questioned by police over sexual assault allegations.
It’s been revealed three Victoria Police members travelled to Rome last week, after Cardinal Pell volunteered to participate in an interview.
The allegations surround incidents which allegedly happened during Cardinal Pell’s time as Archbishop of Melbourne in the 1990s.
Pell has always maintained his innocence.
‘The Cardinal repeats his previous rejection of all and every allegation of sexual abuse and will continue to co-operate with Victoria Police until the investigation is finalised,’ the Cardinal’s office said in a statement.
Investigations continue.
