Victoria set to swelter on Thursday
Victoria is set to swelter again today, with a predicted top of 37 degrees in Melbourne.
It follows an uncomfortable night, with the temperature not dropping below 27 degrees overnight in the city.
A total fire ban has been declared for the Mallee, Wimmera and Central districts – which includes Melbourne.
The fire danger rating is very high to severe.
Fire crews, meanwhile, have spent the night monitoring two grass fires at Diggers Rest and Lang Lang.
A cool change is expected this afternoon.
