This morning was the coldest morning of the year across most of the state!

In Melbourne, it was the coldest morning since 22 July 2022.

Senior meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology, Angus Hines, says “most places … have dipped well and truly into the negatives for the first few hours of your Wednesday”.

In Bendigo, the temperature dropped to -3.9 degrees, while in Ballarat the temperature reached a low of -3.8 degrees.

In Melbourne, Viewbank in the city’s north-east recorded the lowest temperature: -1.3 degrees.
