Tourism Victoria is targeting Victorians for the first time in a decade.

A TV ad campaign in which two friends walk home from a winery lunch is the centrepiece of the new $4.5 million initiative aimed at getting Melburnians to go beyond the city and visit their state.

The ad deliberately chose spots in Victoria that are less well-known than the Great Ocean Road or Sovereign Hill.

‘We wanted to remind people that, two hours from Melbourne, you can get to some places that are absolutely stunning,’ said Visit Victoria’s Nick Foa.

It prompted Ross and John to consider the best holiday spots in Victoria they’ve never heard of.
