Victoria told to brace for more wild weather

Melbourne should be spared the worst of a late afternoon onslaught of rain, hail and thunderstorms.

The Weather Bureau had forecast rapid changes to weather conditions.

And while it cancelled an earlier severe thunderstorm warning on Thursday, it is keeping a close eye on pockets of cells forming across the state’s west.

But the bureau says Melbourne should now be spared the worst of any rain.

It follows last week’s deluge.
