Victoria warned as total fire bans are issued for most of the state

A total fire ban has been declared for the Mallee, Wimmera and Central districts including Melbourne and Geelong on Thursday.

Most of the state is expected to swelter with temperatures in the high thirties.

Emergency Management Commissioner Craig Lapsley has told 3AW’s Tom Elliott, forecast hot conditions and strong winds are posing an increased risk of bushfires.

‘Be vigilant about fire, particularly in the grassland areas,’ Craig Lapsley told 3AW Drive.
