Victorian business owners call for review into grand final public holiday

Business leaders are calling for the Victorian government to reconsider the AFL grand final public holiday.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Sally Curtain told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft that it is generally not a beneficial day for businesses.

“We surveyed members back in 2018 and found that three-quarters choose to close rather than trade, and those who do open report a loss,” she said.
