A study by payroll company Remote found two in five businesses would hire offshore as a result of Victoria’s work-from-home legislation.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Sally Curtain told 3AW Breakfast hosts Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen this new legislation was the last thing Victoria needed.

Press PLAY to hear how she thinks businesses will change their employment practices

“Why couldn’t we make Victoria the best place to create jobs, not the most regulated place to have one?” she asked.

Victorian head of Australian Industry Group Tim Piper told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott it makes Victoria a very unattractive prospect.

Press PLAY to understand the full extent of the issue

“So they will start to select on that basis where it is easiest to employ,” he said.
