Victorian dairy introduces free-range milk following trend of ‘intense farming’

A Victorian company is calling for a standard in the dairy industry after introducing a line of free-range milk to the marketplace.

The chief executive of Camperdown Dairy, Peter Skene, said they launched the line of free-range milk to give consumers a choice.

He said they were seeing a trend in the dairy industry for “intensification” of dairy farms.

“It differentiates us from the trend that we believe is occurring in the marketplace,” he said.

“We are very keen on working through with interested parties to ensure consumers have a choice around free range versus intense farming.”
