Victorian government to recruit health care workers from overseas
The Victorian government will recruit as many as 1000 health care workers who are living overseas to help ease the pressure on Victoria’s health care system.
The government announced the news on Tuesday.
Martin Foley said the $2.5 million package would be spent on health care workers such as doctors and nurses.
He said the majority of those health care staff would be returning Australians who have been trying to get back throughout the pandemic.
To be eligible for the program, the workers need to have an existing employment contract with a Victorian health care service.
