Victorian National Party Senator, Bridget McKenzie, says they will continue to get on with their job and wish their “city cousins” good luck going forward.

On Tuesday, the National Party split from its conservative Coalition partner of more than 60 years, the Liberal Party, and Ms McKenzie spoke to Tom Elliot about the split and why it occurred.

McKenzie said a Coalition is meant to be “mutually beneficial” and due to the Liberals lack of guarantee towards certain policies, they made the decision to leave.

“We are going to get on with representing without fear or favour for the people that sent us to parliament,” she said on 3AW Mornings.
