State opposition leader Jess Wilson told Tom Elliott the sentencing for serious offences needs to be changed.

“For serious offences … if you are given the privilege of bail on your first offence, but then you offend again, there are no ifs, no buts, you are held on remand until your court is heard,” Wilson said on 3AW Mornings.
“We will do whatever it takes to put an end to the crime crisis here in Victoria.”
Wilson also addressed the proposed public service hiring freeze, the Suburban Rail Loop project, police resources, duck shooting, and Victoria’s economic debt.
