Fiona Patten and Bernie Finn have clashed over drug decriminalisation on 3AW.

The Victorian politicians went head-to-head on Monday morning.

The Reason Party leader has long advocated for drug law reform in Victoria.

But that doesn’t wash with Bernie Finn.

“The last thing that we need on our streets and on our roads is more people taking drugs, and that is the message you’re putting out there,” he said on 3AW.

“You’re always pushing this drug thing.

“I don’t see how you can get people off drugs by facilitating drug use.”

But Ms Patten said in every jurisdiction where there had been drug law reform there had been no increase in drug use.

“In fact, in many cases there has been decreases,” she said.
