Victorian suburbs with worst vaccination rates revealed

Medical experts admit they’re frustrated by data showing those living in Victoria’s wealthiest suburbs have some of the state’s worst vaccination rates.

It’s been revealed suburbs including South Yarra, Toorak, Brighton, Elwood, Prahran, St Kilda and Hampton are among the worst vaccine dodgers in Victoria, with as many as two in 10 kids not immunised.

This is despite those areas being higher socioeconomic suburbs with better education levels.

Dr Margie Danchin, senior research fellow at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and vaccinations expert, told 3AW Drive it was becoming a growing problem.

‘There’s a lot of Dr Google experts that aren’t taking medical advice and scientific advice on face value,’ she said.
