Victorian Transport Association’s warning over new truck taxes

The CEO of the Victorian Transport Association has warned the cost of food and other freight items will rise after the government imposed two new federal taxes.

The Heavy Vehicle Road Users Charge will jump by six per cent, raising just over $1 billion over the next four years.

“The industry will have to recover these costs, or we’ll go broke,” Peter Anderson said on 3AW Drive.
