Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas in studio with Neil Mitchell

Tom Elliott

Treasurer Tim Pallas has told 3AW Victoria would be $6.6 billion better off if it received it’s fair share of infrastructure funding from the Federal Government.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull ha said he ‘adores’ Victoria, but not the Premier.

The Andrews Government wants to use Federal funds they say they’re owed to pay for a $1.4 billion regional rail upgrade, but the Commonwealth is yet to agree.

Mr Pallas has told Neil Mitchell the Prime Minister is trying to disable the Victorian economy.

‘We have a Sydney-centric Prime Minister who I think is intent of starving this government, out of a sense of maliciousness, over the wounds they share over East West,’ Pallas said on 3AW Mornings.

Despite promising not to increase taxes, the budget has revealed an increase in new vehicle duties and land tax and stamp duty for investors.

Mr Pallas has told Neil Mitchell there is relief for some.
