Victorians pay respects at Shrine of Remembrance on Anzac Day
Victorians have returned to the Shrine of Remembrance in strong numbers, with thousands gathering to pay their respects on Anzac Day.
It’s the first time since 2019 that services can be held without any COVID-19 restrictions.
Some 50,000 people were estimated to attend the Dawn Service.
The march in the CBD will commence at 9am.
Peter Liefman is a Vietnam veteran and will help lead the march.
He spoke with Ross and Russel on Monday morning, explaining how he was drafted into service.
“I was one of those people who happened to be there when the government announced the end of it,” he said.
