Victoria’s COVID-19 death toll surges as state records 1923 new cases
Another 25 people with COVID-19 have died in Victoria.
It’s the second highest daily death toll recorded in the state since the pandemic began.
There were 1923 new cases reported yesterday.
There are 746 people with COVID-19 in Victorian hospitals. Of those, 137 are in intensive care and 85 are on ventilators.
There are 22,189 active cases of the virus across the state.
Of Victorians aged 16 or older, 77 per cent are fully vaccinated.
We thank everyone who got vaccinated and tested yesterday.
