Victoria’s latest crime stats are out and it confirms what many suspected

The latest Victorian crime stats are out and the figures won’t surprise you.

Seven news crime reporter, Cassie Zervos, says youth crime is up as kids commit “more serious” crimes.

“Kids are now committing more serious and violent crimes compared to a lower level such as graffiti or shop theft,” she told Neil Mitchell.

She also discussed the debate surrounding Brighton with police confirming the LGA is one of the safest.

“It’s the 29th safest LGA metropolitan area but their biggest concern is aggravated burglaries in Brighton is up, but that’s because 56 per cent of those homes are unlocked,” she said.
