‘Never seen crowds like it’: Chaos at Melbourne Airport
There are massive crowds in domestic departures at Melbourne Airport today ahead of the long weekend.
3AW Mornings producer Michael Hilder is in the Virgin domestic terminal.
“This is just about the most packed room I have ever been in, in my entire life,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“It’s so busy, there’s a lift that gets you up here on the upper concourse and there are people who are walking out of the lift, they move one metre and then they’re in the line, so it’s conceivable the line could extend into the lift!”
Sydney resident at Melbourne Airport, Greg Reid, says the crowds are “unbelievable”.
“You’ve never seen so many people,” he told Neil Mitchell.
