VIDEO: Eagle-eyed paramedic helps tortoise cross the road safely

Some eagle-eyed paramedics noticed a tortoise crossing a road, and stopped to make sure it made it across without being squashed.

The paramedic who picked up the animal deals with gory human scenes every day, but was hesitant to pick up the tortoise.

Why did the tortoise cross the road?
We don’t know either.
