Lucky near miss for car under boom gates in Melbourne’s west

A passing train has narrowly missed a parked car after it stopped on railway tracks in Melbourne’s west.

Neil Mitchell has been sent the below footage of a 4WD on railway tracks at Cherry Street, Werribee.

Listener Bruno told Neil the driver could have driven across but appeared to stop for no reason.

“The driver turned left and the boom started to come down,” Bruno said.

“Then they stop on the tracks, for some reason they just sit there and wait.”
