A terrifying near miss in Melbourne’s northern suburbs yesterday was captured by a home security system yesterday.

Danielle Vizzini was in her Lalor backyard watching her two-year-old swim in a kiddie pool when she saw a brown snake slither up and almost strike her daughter.

“I saw it rise up out of the ground because it was in like an ‘S’ shape. It was ready, it was ready to strike her,” she told Ross and Russel.

“I’ve just screamed ‘Snake! Snake!’ and I’ve just grabbed her.”
