Violent criminal rapes woman after dodging deportation in Australia

A violent criminal with a long history of offences has been free to savagely rape a woman after a tribunal refused to deport him.

New Zealand-born Carl Stafford has admitted to raping a woman at St Kilda in 2015.

According to the Herald Sun, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal chose not to deport him in 2013 – claiming Australia must take responsibility for letting him down.

He went onto savagely rape a woman after breaking into her home.

His visa had been cancelled but he remained in the country.

Shadow Attorney General John Pesutto said it was outrageous.

‘There’s no question in Victorians’ minds that this person’s visa should have been cancelled,’ he told 3AW.

‘He should have never been in Australia.’
