A much-loved cat that went viral during COVID had gone missing in recent days, but there’s been a happy ending.

Elwood the cat lives across the road from Epworth HealthCare in Richmond and became famous in 2020 for greeting hospital residents and staff each day.

Earlier this week, Elwood went missing, with 3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate launching a campaign to reunite the cat with its owners.

Owner Juliette revealed that he was put up for purchase on Facebook Marketplace, which led to him being returned to his rightful owners.

“Instantly, those that bought him on Facebook thought something was not quite right,” Juliette told Jacqui Felgate.
