Virgin Australia set to ramp up operations after experiencing ‘record levels of demand’

Virgin Australia is set to expand its operations with new flight fares announced and more international destinations set to be unveiled in the next few weeks.
It comes after the airline experiencing “record levels of demand” with Virgin Airlines sitting at around 32.5 per cent of the total capacity in the marketplace, which is similar to 2019 levels.
Virgin Australia CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, is excited about what’s to come for the airline in the near future.
“It’s just a really exciting time and everybody is enjoying the flexibility to move around the country and we are seeing record levels of demand,” she told 3AW Breakfast.
Internationally, Virgin fly to Fiji, Bali, Vanuatu, Samoa and soon to be Queenstown with more international destinations to be unveiled soon.
Today, Virgin have announced 800,000 fares including $55 from Sydney to the Gold Coast and $95 from Brisbane to Cairns.
“We are really working hard to make sure there are lots of specials, because the reality is there is inflation that we’re feeling and some prices have gone up and so if you don’t book early, then it will be a bit more expensive than it was a year ago,” Ms Hrdlicka claims.
Virgin have even announced a middle seat lottery, meaning those who buy a middle seat ticket can enter into a lottery to win exclusive prizes.
