Visitor expenditure in Victoria hits ‘incredible’ all-time high
Visitor expenditure in Victoria has surpassed the pre-COVID peak.
New data from Tourism Research Australia shows visitor expenditure for the year ending March 2023 reached a record high of $35 billion, above the pre-pandemic peak of $32.5 billion.
Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulous says the state was aiming for a $35 billion visitor spend by July 2024.
