Visually impaired victim opens up on ‘scary’ Flinders Street Station incident

Visually impaired woman Lucy has opened up on the traumatic incident that unfolded at Flinders Street Station on Tuesday, involving her guide dog Dottie.

Lucy was trapped in closing train doors and was separated from her guide dog, which was dragged along the platform as the train pulled away.

Her mum Erin was very angry on 3AW Drive on Wednesday, and Lucy has provided an update on her own wellbeing as well as her dog’s.

“So far Metro hasn’t reached out to me personally, they haven’t made any sort of apology,” Lucy told Jacqui Felgate.

“I think it’s disappointing that the blame was immediately put on myself.

“It might take some work for me to feel fully confident travelling on the train again.”
