Tom Elliott is disappointed that Frankston Council has decided to abandon kerb-side hard rubbish collection.

He thinks that this is a basic service for local councils to provide. 

But the President of the Victorian Local Government Association, Sebastian Klein, said all councils are trying to cut costs.

‘It’s a classic measure from any sort of business – externalising the cost and pushing it back to the consumer,’ Mr Klein said.

He also defended CEO salaries as ‘what the market demands’.
