Division between Victoria’s paid firefighters and volunteers appears to have flared again.

3AW Drive has been made aware of another potential cause of division.

Volunteer brigades have reportedly been told they’ll have to fundraise to connect to the NBN, however, career and integrated stations will be funded by the Andrews Government.

He said the internet was a vital tool for modern firefighters, with reports and reviews all conducted online.

‘These days they have to have the internet – everything is done online,’ Mr Battin said.
